Step outside, take a deep breathe in. What do you smell? If something over nothing you say what that something is, right? Of course and if nothing over something, you say the air but knowingly in your mind that you still smell something.
Think the the same applies to hearing? Not quite…
Humans react off instinct. For every action received we sometimes issue an involutary reaction. Take love for example, how many times have you offered up the words, “I love you” without any action? Now think about how many times you’ve said the same phrase after a hug, kiss, intimate act, or death? 9 times out of 10 these times in your life outweight the other scenario by a long shot.
My conclusion is: we just simply don’t know how to love anymore. Fact is, from the moment you open your eyes in the morning to the time you close them at night, you are being told that you are loved and don’t realize it. You dont realize it because you hear what’s going on in your life instead of listening. Things like technology and temptation can equate to a weak mind which can in turn lead to a depreciation for lifes simplicities and cause one to lose focus on the ones they truly care about and “love”. Basically, at the end of the day, the moral of this story is, “it’s the little things that count”.
Experiment with your mind and listen to nature and your surroundings. For example, sit alone and listen to waves crush against the shores of a beach at night, listen to soulfull music-read a blog-and you will find your mind calm, soothed, and appreciative of life and most of all, love.
I love you,
